French auto major Renault on Friday said it was aiming to export about Rs 1,350 crore in finished components to its manufacturing operations around the world, by 2009 from the company's newly opened international logistic network facility in Pune.

"We are targeting exports of about Rs 1,350 crore in finished components to our manufacturing operations around the world, by 2009," Renault India Country General Manager and Managing Director Silvain Bilaine said in a statement.

While the needs of the Indian automotive buyers would be addressed through the Renault range of passenger vehicles, the Pune ILN facility would help support the international development of Renault, he added.

The newly opened international logistic network facility spread over 40,000-sq ft is part of Renault's fully integrated global supply chain network.

"It will export components to Renault manufacturing facilities around the world. We are looking forward to working with Indian manufacturers to develop components for Renault vehicles manufactured around the world, Renault Senior Manager of Logistics Jean-Louis Fournier said.

Renault had entered India about three years back through a joint venture with Mahindra & Mahindra for the production and distribution of Logan.

Bilaine said the company was in India for the long haul. "The logistics network facility is another milestone in our commitment to the Indian market. We appreciate the fact that India is not only a big market for cars, but also possesses some of the best and smartest minds in a variety of fields such as design, engineering and manufacturing etc," he added.

"We are committed to investing in India to take advantage of this huge repository of talent and opportunity, and within the next 3-5 years India will make a strong contribution to Renaults worldwide success, Bilaine said.

Renault already has a satellite design center in Mumbai called Renault Design India. The company is also setting up a manufacturing plant in Chennai in partnership with its Japanese subsidiary Nissan.
