National Thermal Power Corporation has signed a MOU on 04 August 2008 at New Delhi amongst NTPC, Asian Development Bank, GE Energy Financial Services, USA, Kyushu Electric Power Co. Inc, Japan and Brookfield Renewable Power Inc., Canada for setting up a joint venture company to undertake renewable power generation under public private partnership. NTPC will initially hold 40% equity in the proposed joint venture company and balance will be equally shared by ADB, GEEFS, Kyushu and BRP.

The company made this announcement after the trading hours on Tuesday, 05 August 2008.
