Gold traded lower by 1.38 per cent in futures trading today as traders reduced buying in tandem with weakening global trend.
The precious metal for April month contract declined by 1.38 per cent to Rs 13,220 on the Multi Commodity Exchange, in trading of 10 lots.
Gold for February contract followed suit and lost 0.95 per cent to Rs 13,150 per ten gram in 299 lots and December contract by 0.80 per cent at Rs 13,080 with a trading volume of 17,509 lots.
Trading sentiment turned weak following reports that gold declined in London for the first time in three days as investors sold the metal and other assets to raise cash.
Meanwhile, gold fell 10.96 dollar to 835.94 dollar an ounce in London.
