The government would consider a cut in aviation fuel prices, Petroleum Minister Murli Deora told NDTV, citing the recent drop in oil prices. The international oil prices have recently fallen sharply, dipping below the $70 mark on Thursday.
Speaking about Jet Airways revoking its retrenchment decision, Deora said the sackings by the airline were “amateurish”. He maintained there was no deal between Jet and the government on reversing the layoffs.
Deora also said the airline did not fulfill its promises to oil companies on payments but the oil companies are willing to negotiate with Jet on credit terms.
