Leading wind turbine maker Suzlon’s troubles have resurfaced with the same old issue of broken blades.
Suzlon said that a blade from one its turbines in the U.S had broken and was supposed to be replaced under a retrofitting programme that will replace 1,000 blades by the end of this fiscal. The turbine maker said this problem is restricted only to the United States.
Sumant Sinha, COO of Suzlon Energy, said the company has already replaced most blades under programme.
But the market was not ready to take any clarification from the company. Suzlon’s stock fell as much as 45 per cent in intraday trade, only to end the day with a 40 per cent fall in line with the mayhem in the market.
