State run oil major Bharat Petroleum Corporation on Thursday said its net loss for the second quarter ended September 30 stood at Rs 2,625.27 crore.
The firm had a net profit of Rs 1,038.16 crore in the September quarter of last fiscal, BPCL said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The total income rose 49.32 per cent to Rs 38,148.73 crore for the quarter under review, from Rs 25,548.14 crore in the year-ago period.
Financial results of the quarter have been adversely affected due to impact on account of high crude oil and product prices which could not be fully passed on to the consumers, the company said.
For the six-month ended September 30 BPCL had a net loss of Rs 3,691.96 crore, while it had a net profit of Rs 1,230.88 crore in the corresponding period last year.
In the first half of the current fiscal BPCL's income from operations stood at Rs 82,074.63 crore, against Rs 54,370.83 crore in the year-ago period.
During the six-month period, the refiner had a forex loss of Rs 1,141.87 crore, against a forex gain of Rs 332.06 crore in the year-ago period.
