Industry players on Railway Budget

Many rail infrastructure players gave a positive reaction to the Rail Budget presented today. Arvind Gemini, Director, Kalindee Rail Nirman Engineers, said the proposal for doubling 12 lines and 1300 km of gauge conversion would boost orders for the company. He also expects to get orders for signalling systems.
Ramesh Maheshwari, president & CEO, Texmaco said he expects some new orders from the projects of modernisation of railway stations.
Bharat Earth Movers CMD, VRS Natarajan, expressed his satisfaction over the Rail Budget and said the company is likely to gain from the plan to launch AC double-decker coaches.
โWe expect to receive orders for new coaches and wagons from the Railways,โ said Natarajan.
CM Khosla, former member of traffic, Railway Board, however, termed the Railway Budget as โvery poorโ and said there was no emphasis on increasing freight traffic in the Budget.
