Net profit of Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) rose 24.28% to Rs 663.94 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 534.23 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008. Sales rose 8.78% to Rs 2844.83 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 2615.10 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008.
Net profit of Axis Bank rose 31.95% to Rs 531.64 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 402.91 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008. Total operating income rose 12.39% to Rs 2860.36 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 2545.05 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008.
Net profit of Praj Industries rose 31.26% to Rs 39.60 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 30.17 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008. Sales rose 0.52% to Rs 200.74 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 199.71 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008.
Net profit of Geojit BNP Paribas Financial Services rose 70.08% to Rs 13.47 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 7.92 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008. Sales rose 88.51% to Rs 71.05 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 37.69 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008.
Telecom companies announced their subscription numbers for the month of September 2009. GSM subscriber additions saw almost 8% decline in September 2009. The industry as a whole added 8.5 million subscribers as against 9.3 million subscribers in August 2009.
Bharti Airtel reported 10.32% decline in mobile user addition to 2.52 million mobile users in September 2009 over August 2009. For Bharti, this is the biggest month on month decline since the 22% drop the company saw in March 2005.
Idea Cellular reported 9.74% decline in user addtion to 1.39 million mobile users in September 2009 over August 2009.
