Inflation for the week ended October 3 rose 0.92 per cent from a year earlier, as compared to 0.7 per cent in the previous week. The inflation has remained in the positive territory for the fifth straight week.
The wholesale price index for all commodities stood at 241.9, down 0.5 per cent from a week earlier.
The prices of primary articles fell 1.4 per cent and the prices of manufactured products fell by 0.2 per cent on a week-on-week basis.
The price of the fuel group was down 1.4 per cent.
Inflation for the week ended August 8 has been revised to a negative 0.37 per cent from a negative 1.53 per cent.
