Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 963.10 crore on Thursday, 15 October 2009, lower than Rs 1582.50 crore on Wednesday, 14 October 2009.
FII inflow of Rs 963.10 crore on 15 October 2009 was a results of gross purchases Rs 3924.20 crore and gross sales Rs 2961.10 crore. The BSE Sensex fell 35.91 points or 0.21% to 17,195.20 on that day.
FII inflow in October 2009 totaled Rs 5,372.50 crore (till 15 October 2009). Foreign funds had bought equities worth Rs 17,328 crore in September 2009. FII inflow in the calendar year 2009 totaled Rs 65,509.70 crore (till 15 October 2009).
There are a total of 1696 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India (Sebi).
