Shares of software firm Thinksoft Global Services will list on the stock exchanges today, 26 October 2009. The Chennai-based firm had raised Rs 45.57 crore through the recently concluded initial public offer (IPO). It has fixed issue price at Rs 125 per share.

Net profit of Maruti Suzuki India rose 92.49% to Rs 570.00 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 296.12 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008. Sales rose 46.59% to Rs 7080.67 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 4830.26 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008.

Maruti said the company remains cautiously optimistic with regard to volume growth in the near future. It said margins in the future may be under pressure due to hardening of commodity prices and strengthening of the Japanese yen. The company said it continues to focus on cost optimization.

Tata Motors, Ranbaxy Laboratories, Idea Cellular, Dabur India, Canara Bank, IDBI Bank, Tata Communications, Lupin, MindTree, Aban Offshore, Mahindra and Mahindra Financial Services, Bharati Shipyard, Oriental Bank of Commerce, NIIT, Neyveli Lignite, GMR Infrastructure, Areva T&D India, Union Bank of India, United Spirits, Kalpataru Power & Transmission, Blue Star, Dena Bank, and Engineers India, among others will declare September 2009 ended quarter results today, 26 October 2009.

Patel Engineering is reportedly planning a 1,200 mega watt (mw) thermal power project in Gujarat and a 90 mw hydel power unit in Arunachal Pradesh.

France's Areva SA, the world's largest supplier of nuclear reactors, is reported to be in joint venture talks with Bharat Forge to manufacture pressurised heavy water reactors, according to an unnamed source who is aware of the development.

Net profit of JSW Steel rose 42.24% to Rs 451.54 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 317.45 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008. Sales rose 6.67% to Rs 4553.88 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 4269.21 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008.

Net profit of Punj Lloyd declined 52.44% to Rs 41.88 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 88.05 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008. Sales rose 18.59% to Rs 1851.75 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 1561.53 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008.

Net profit of Pantaloon Retail India rose 21.12% to Rs 43.82 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 36.18 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008. Sales rose 17.59% to Rs 1777.02 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 1511.21 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008.

Net profit of Gujarat State Petronet rose 287.81% to Rs 110.06 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 28.38 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008. Sales rose 114.82% to Rs 254.76 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 118.59 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008.

Net profit of 3i Infotech declined 67.14% to Rs 18.32 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 55.76 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008. Sales declined 20.22% to Rs 126.31 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 158.32 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008.

Net profit of Titagarh Wagons declined 33.69% to Rs 11.83 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 17.84 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008. Sales declined 36.43% to Rs 123.95 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 194.97 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008.

Net profit of Core Projects & Technologies rose 53.37% to Rs 25.69 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 16.75 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008. Sales rose 9.84% to Rs 97.66 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 88.91 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008.

Net profit of Swaraj Engines rose 66.26% to Rs 9.56 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 5.75 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008. Sales rose 14.36% to Rs 69.27 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 60.57 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008.

Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company reported net loss of Rs 7.49 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against net loss of Rs 14.70 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008. Sales rose 507.00% to Rs 6.07 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 1.00 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008.

Net profit of India Infoline rose 9.93% to Rs 35.43 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 32.23 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008. Sales rose 31.13% to Rs 199.35 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 152.02 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008.

Net profit of Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chemicals declined 0.49% to Rs 8.11 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 8.15 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008. Sales declined 37.70% to Rs 533.20 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 855.87 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008.

Net profit of Titan Industries declined 11.64% to Rs 77.60 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 87.82 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008. Sales rose 5.35% to Rs 1146.80 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 1088.53 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008.

Net profit of Zee Entertainment Enterprises rose 77.09% to Rs 102.48 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 57.87 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008. Sales declined 7.62% to Rs 279.94 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 303.02 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008.

Net profit of MMTC rose 4.53% to Rs 48.90 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 46.78 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008. Sales declined 24.48% to Rs 9432.11 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 12489.10 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008.

Net profit of TVS Motor Company rose 136.06% to Rs 24.55 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 10.40 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008. Sales rose 9.89% to Rs 1115.41 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 1015.07 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008.

Net profit of ING Vysya Bank rose 13.84% to Rs 53.47 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 46.97 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008. Total operating income rose 1.37% to Rs 538.88 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 531.62 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008.

Net profit of Zee News rose 10.53% to Rs 12.60 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 11.40 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008. Sales rose 26.01% to Rs 155.84 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 123.67 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008.

Net profit of Gateway Distriparks declined 31.41% to Rs 17.97 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 as against Rs 26.20 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2008.
