The country's most valued drug maker Sun Pharmaceutical Industries on Wednesday reported a decline of 11 per cent in its consolidated net profit to Rs 453.81 crore for the second quarter of the current fiscal.
The company had a consolidated net profit of Rs 512.77 crore during the same quarter last year.
However, consolidated total income of the pharma major rose to Rs 1,185.17 crore in the latest quarter from Rs 1,177.64 crore in the year-ago period, Sun Pharma said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
On standalone basis, Sun Pharma posted a net profit of Rs 203.06 crore for the quarter under review, 33 per cent down from Rs 303.14 crore for the same period last fiscal.
Shares of Sun Pharma were trading at Rs 1,364.95, down 0.06 per cent in the afternoon trade on the BSE.
