It was the sixth day of the hearing on the gas pricing dispute between the estranged Ambani brothers and on Friday RIL counsel will wrap up his arguments. It will be RNRL's turn next week.
On Friday, the bench comprising Chief Justice KG Balakrishnan and Justices RV Raveendran and P Sathasivam, asked RIL counsel if Reliance was the only one who would lose out if gas was sold at $2.3 per unit.
Negative replied RIL counsel Harish salve while adding that it will be the government who will lose about Rs 54,000 crore in terms of royalty, taxes and revenue from profit.
RIL further said the government in on a receiving end even if the price is higher or lower.
The bench also questioned RNRL counsel seeking an update on the much delayed Dadri power plant.
RIL counsel did not miss the opportunity of informing the court that the Dadri power plant is not ready and that Reliance Power which raised Rs 11,000 crore from the market had not invested in a single penny in this beleaguered power project.
Surely, the fight is poised to get louder every day.
