Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 13.80 crore on Wednesday, 4 November 2009, as against an outflow of Rs 300.80 crore on Tuesday, 3 November 2009.
FII inflow of Rs 13.80 crore on 4 November 2009 was a results of gross purchases Rs 3395.20 crore and gross sales Rs 3381.40 crore. The BSE Sensex surged 507.19 points or 3.29% to 15,912.13 on that day.
FII outflow in November 2009 totaled Rs 287.10 crore (till 4 November 2009). FII had bought equities worth Rs 8303.80 crore in October 2009. FII inflow in the calendar year 2009 totaled Rs 68,154 crore (till 4 November 2009).
There are a total of 1704 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India (Sebi).
