Abbott India Posts 41 Per Cent Rise in Q2 Profit

New Delhi: Drug firm Abbott India on Wednesday posted a 41 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 63.74 crore for the second quarter ended on September 30, 2014.

The company had registered a net profit of Rs 45.19 crore for the corresponding period last year.

Sales rose to Rs 577.42 crore in the quarter under review as against Rs 444.73 crore in the year-ago period, Abbott India Ltd said in a filing to the BSE.

For the six months to September 2014, the company posted a net profit of Rs 114.67 crore. It had clocked a net profit of Rs 74.90 crore for the corresponding period last year.

Shares in Abbott India, on Wednesday, ended at Rs 3359.55 apiece on the BSE, down 1.44 per cent from the previous close.
