Rupee snaps two sessions of gains against dollar

close

The rupee opened lower against the dollar, snapping two sessions of gains.

The local unit is currently trading at 54.21/22 levels to the dollar after falling to 54.2750 levels, down from Monday's close of 54.01/02.

Rupee's losses are in line with some major Asian currencies like the Korean won, which opened weaker.

Local stocks too virtually traded flat in morning trade, while Asia's broadest MSCI-ex Japan index extended losses to 0.4 per cent.
