Fortis Healthcare Q4 net up 41%

New Delhi: Fortis Healthcare today reported a 41.34 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 41.54 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2012.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 29.39 crore in the same period last year, Fortis Healthcare said in a filing to the BSE.

Total income rose to Rs 1,279.1 crore in the January-March quarter from Rs 421.18 crore in the same period last year.

For the year ended March 31, 2012, the consolidated net profit slipped, however, to Rs 72.22 crore from Rs 124.33 crore in 2010-11.

On the standalone basis, Fortis' net profit increased to Rs 184.98 crore in the January-March quarter of this year from Rs 33.82 crore in the same period last year.

Meanwhile, in a separate filing, the company announced the appointment of Pradeep Ratilal Raniga and Joji Sekhon Gill as additional directors of the company.

The board also granted an in-principal approval for the future listing of the company's clinical establishment division, on the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Ltd (SGX-ST), and it will be seeking shareholder approval for it.
