At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in February declined by Rs 128, or 0.44 per cent, to Rs 28,919 per 10 grams. Similarly, the metal for delivery in April lost Rs 121, or 0.41 per cent, to Rs 29,227 per 10 grams.
Traders said speculators offloaded their positions in tandem with a weakening global trend, mainly led to fall in gold prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, gold fell by 0.8 per cent to $1,709.07 an ounce in Singapore.
